In a record released by the FBI earlier this week, the 2015 Black Friday apparently set another record for the most number of Americans buying guns.

According to Global news, on Nov. 27, The National Instant Criminal Background Check System was able to record and process at least 185,345 requests, all stemming from buyers who opted to purchase their guns from large retailers.

In the U.S., the need for a background check is only performed when the gun is being purchased from a large retail store. This brings questions on how much more is being sold from the other retailers who are not required to go under the same process.

The increase on gun sales has been largely connected to the series of shootings in the U.S., where after every incident, the record of purchase increases.

Recently, Colorado Springs was plagued with the tragedy of a gunman shooting three people to death and leaving others wounded in a Planned Parenthood clinic. San Bernardino, California also suffered the same incident when two gunmen open fired at a banquet hall, leaving several dead and many others wounded.

President Barack Obama, in his interview with CBS, said, "The one thing we do know is that we have a pattern now of mass shootings in this country that has no parallel anywhere else in the world. We should never think this is something that just happens in the ordinary course of events because it doesn't happen with the same frequency in other countries."

In a report by Refinery 29, they confirmed that the initial number of guns being sold has just been a part of a larger picture. Guns that are being sold and purchased from a gun show or those that are being held as collector's items need not go under such background checks. Despite the FBI performing all the background checks from retail stores, there's still a massive number of operations that has been outside their jurisdiction.

The last time the U.S. had a record high sales of guns was during the aftermath of the Sandy Hook shooting that left almost 26 people dead, most of them were children. Apparently, Black Friday had something more to offer than the regular electronic gadgets; this time, guns took the center stage.

Do you believe that a push for a stricter gun control law will eradicate mass shootings in the U.S.? What is your stand on the sales of guns during Black Friday?
