A Manny Pacquiao vs. Saul "Canelo" Alvarez fight will be a huge match at 154 pounds, former titleholder Mikey Garcia predicted.

Garcia, the 27-year-old boxer, believes that people will be fascinated to watch the eight-division world champion "Pacman" trading jabs with the newly crowned World Boxing Council middleweight king "Canelo," per a Fight Hype report.

According to Garcia, in terms of business, the fight will do well, especially in the pay-per-view subscriptions for the match. For him, after Mayweather, Alvarez is indeed boxing's superstar.

"I think Canelo right now is the biggest draw after Mayweather...I don't even think Pacquiao's going to be making those kind of numbers," Garcia.

Thus, if the two agree to a match at 154 pounds or the junior middleweight, it will be a "huge, huge fight," Garcia stated.

Fans who watched the clip on YouTube reacted that the two boxers should not be paired to collide with one another because when the actual fight starts, "Canelo" will be too big for Pacquiao.

A boxing enthusiast with an account name "NY Scarface" opposed to this matchup. For him, Alvarez should just face mandatory challenger Gennady Golovkin and defend the WBC crown he captured during his Nov. 21 fight at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas against Puerto Rican fighter Miguel Cotto. 

"Canelo is a big MW [middleweight]. Can't understand why he won't fight GGG at 160lbs. During the Cotto fight, Canelo looked really big. Wouldn't surprise me if he was at 175lbs. that night. PAC has never been really a true welterweight either really. He is more at 145-147lbs now. No way this fight should happen especially that PAC is way past his prime," wrote "NY Scarface."

However, recently, Lance Pugmire of Los Angeles Times hinted that a Pacquiao vs. Alvarez bout is even possible, Boxing News 24 noted.

Pugmire directly told "Canelo" he has a shot to be Pacquiao's final for next year, citing his conversation with the Filipino boxer's promoter, Top Rank CEO Bob Arum, noted the site.

"Bob Arum told me this week that Manny Pacquiao may be on the table for you," Pugmire told "Canelo."

Yet, even though it may be an exciting battle for some fans, there's a chance it will not be staged anymore.

The Mirror reports that Pacquiao has already chosen World Boxing Organization welterweight champ Timothy Bradley for his farewell fight.

If this is true, Pacquiao and Bradley will meet inside the ring for the third time.
