CNN anchor Anderson Cooper will not be receiving any inheritance from his mother Gloria Vanderbilt, and apparently he's not fazed by it.

"My mom's made clear to me that there's no trust fund," Cooper told Howard Stern on his radio show. "There's none of that."

Cooper, who is famously nicknamed by his fans as the "Silver Fox," comes from a long line of Vanderbilts. The Vanderbilts are known as one of the wealthiest families in American history.

Gloria Vandebilt is Cooper's mom and she is a former denim designer. Gloria is reportedly worth $200 million.

Although Cooper has grown up in wealth, he expressed that he's "never paid attention to it."

"My dad grew up really poor in Mississippi -- I paid attention to that because I thought that's a healthier thing to pay attention to than like some statue of a great-great-great-grandfather who has no connection to my life," said Cooper to Howard Stern.

Cooper went further to say that inheriting money isn't part of his belief system.

"I don't believe in inheriting money," he said. "I think it's an initiative sucker. I think it's a curse ... Who has inherited a lot of money that has gone on to do things in their own life? From the time I was growing up, if I felt that there was some pot of gold waiting for me, I don't know that I would've been so motivated."

During the interview, Stern argued that Cooper's mother went on to do bigger things such as her denim line despite her inheritance of the Vanderbuilt wealth. Cooper responded, "I think that's an anomaly. "She made more money on her own life than she ever ... inherited," he said. "We believe in working."

Despite Cooper's opposition to inheriting money, the reality is that the popular CNN host doesn't need it. Anderson Cooper reportedly makes $11 million a year through his contract with the CNN network. Cooper has been the anchor of Anderson Cooper 360 since 2003.
