"Minority Report" aired its Season 1 finale earlier this week, and sadly, it may be the last fans see of Fox's science-fiction adaption.

While Fox has not officially announced the series is cancelled, a previous report from TVLine confirmed that the network trimmed down the potential 13-episode season to 10. This all but ensures that the series will not be renewed for a second year.

Fans might wonder what could have been, had the season not been cut short, but the writers did an admirable job of tying up the plot threads for the hastened finale.

In the season's 10th episode, "Everybody Runs," Det. Vega (Meagan Good) and the precogs face off against two adversaries: the corrupt Blomfeld (Reed Diamond) and the terrorist organization Memento Mori.

The finale featured a number of highlights, including the first real "minority report," courtesy of Dash (Stark Sands). While his fellow precogs see a vision of Memento Mori attacking the senators, Dash sees a view of a playground.

When Vega decides to hide the senators in a bunker, the significance of the vision is revealed. The playground is right above the bunker, which the terrorists plan to attack via the ventilation system.

The plan is foiled by the precogs, who make a deal with the rogue Blomfeld to get into the milk bath one last time to prevent the attack. However, they manage to turn the tables on Blomfeld, who was planning to betray and sell them anyway.

By the end of the episode, we find out Agatha's (Laura Regan) recurrent vision of Vega was not of of her betraying the precogs. Her suggestion to "put them in" the milk bath was actually in reference to the unconscious Blomfeld and his men.

Arthur (Nick Zano), distraught by the death of his right-hand woman Andromeda (Jennifer Cheon) at the hands of Blomfeld, wants to drown them. Dash argues against it. In a final turn of events, viewers see caretaker Wally (Daniel London) drown the men instead, allowing the precogs time to escape.

With the precogs forced to go on the run, the finale certainly opens the door for future storylines. However, even though fans might want more, poor ratings make a return unlikely.
