‘Game of Thrones’ Season 6 Trailer Released [Watch]
The "Game of Thrones" Season 6 teaser trailer has finally been released online for the show's droves of fans.
In the new 41-second clip, no new footage is revealed, but the scenes are overlaid with new dialogue from the upcoming season of the series, according to Entertainment Weekly.
The voices narrating the trailer appear to be those of Bran Stark, played by Isaac Hempstead Wright, and the Three-Eyed Raven, played by Max von Sydow. These two talk over gory shots from past seasons, including Catelyn's (Michelle Fairley) throat being cut at the Red Wedding, Ned Stark (Sean Bean) being beheaded, Joffrey's (Jack Gleeson) death and Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) having his hand chopped off.
"They have no idea what's going to happen," Bran says in the trailer, as the screen fades to black. This line, while not the most suspenseful, does highlight the fact that this is the first season in which the narrative goes beyond that of the content of George R.R. Martin's novels.
"We watch. We listen. And we remember," the Raven is heard telling Bran. "The past is already written. The ink is dry."
The clip has already garnered over three million views and has inspired fans to share their reactions on Twitter.
In addition, the clip further teases the death of Jon Snow (Kit Harington), and features a quick cut to Bran with warg eyes, which may cause fans to presume there may be a resurrection in the future.
"Game of Thrones" also stars Peter Dinklage, Lena Headey, Emilia Clarke, Sophie Turner, Iain Glen, Maisie Williams, John Bradley, Alfie Allen, Aiden Gillen, Jerome Flynn, Conleth Hill, Gwendoline Christie, Julian Glover, Charles Dance, Rory McCann, Michelle Fairley, Ian McElhinney, Ben Crompton, Stephen Dillane, Nathalie Emmanuel, Daniel Portman, Liam Cunningham, Natalie Dormer, and Mark Stanley, among others.
"Game of Thrones," which first aired in April 2011, is set to return in April on HBO.
