Good news has arrived for those that didn't take advantage of Sony's PlayStation 4 price cut this Black Friday weekend, as they've recently just announced that the deal will be extended for the coming 2015 Christmas holiday.

Starts Dec. 6 and Ends on Dec. 19

This means consumers can now pick up the console for $300 rather than its usual $350 price. The sale will become effective on Dec. 6 and run all the way to Dec. 19 for primetime holiday shopping. This deal will also apply to both the "Star Wars" Battlefront Bundle or the Uncharted: Nathan Drake Collection Bundle.

The "Star Wars" Battlefront Bundle is expected to do particularly well this holiday season, due to the upcoming release of the new film, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," rumored to become the most successful movie of all time. The "Nathan Drake Collection" Bundle will feature updated versions of the three Uncharted games from the PlayStation 3 era.

So far it would seem as if Microsoft is opting not to follow suit of their competitor's aggressive price cut, leaving them at a significant disadvantage. The Xbox One recently lost the Black Friday weekend to the PS4, and if the company opts to keep the system at its $350 price for the Christmas holiday, we can expect an even bigger blowout.

With the PS4 recently crossing a huge milestone of over 30 million sold units, Sony is in a great place to continue its steady growth.

"We are committed to bringing engaging games and entertainment services to users worldwide," stated Andrew House, the group chief executive at Sony. "Thanks to the support of our partners, PS4 continues to be the premier platform for game and interactive entertainment innovation."
