Samsung Galaxy Note 4 users can now update their device with the official Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS. However, those rooting for a customized one can use the newly-released MyaROM firmware.

Team Android noted that MyaROM firmware based on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop is compatible with Samsung Galaxy Note 4. What makes this custom ROM remarkable is that it offers features found on Galaxy Note 5.

According to the post, MyaROm is "partially" a firmware port of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5. Furthermore, it offers Sony's Bravia Engine 3 that further enhances the quality of videos and images.

To offer a smooth, fast and maximum performance gain, MyaROM is "deodexed, zipaligned, pre-rooted and debloated." However, those interested to install Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update on Samsung Galaxy Note 4 via MyaROM are also warned by Team Android that since it is an unofficial release, it will automatically cancel the warranty of the device.

Furthermore, MyaROM is only compatible with Samsung Galaxy Note 4 units, which bear the model number N910F. To verify the model, go to Menu, then tap Settings and look for Model Number.

Before installing the custom Android ROM, the phablet should be rooted. Expert's recommendation suggests the Galaxy Note 4 should have a battery level of at least 80 percent to avoid power interruption issues that might brick or damage the phablet.

It is also important to make a backup of all the essential data and settings before installing MyaROM on the Galaxy Note 4. This will require the use of the TWRP or ClockWorkMod (CWM), two of the most popular recovery tools available.
