Kim Kardashian took to social media to reveal the name she and husband Kanye West have chosen for their newborn son.

On Dec. 7, the reality star took to Twitter to reveal that the name of her second child with West, and the newest addition to the Kardashian clan, is Saint West.

The couple announced the arrival of their son on Dec. 5 on Kardashian's website with a photo of the couple holding hands.

"To our fans: Kanye and I welcome our baby boy," the announcement read. "Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West welcomed the arrival of their son this morning. Mother and son are doing well."

On her website, the star also revealed that the highly anticipated newborn boy weighed in at 8 lbs., 1 oz.

According to Us Weekly, the couple were reportedly looking to keep up the tradition of using a directional name like South or Easton, to match their daughter North's name. Other reports speculated that they would honor Kardashian's late father Robert Kardashian.

While Saint wasn't exactly what most fans were expecting, the name does fit the family's habit of giving their kids names with grand, superior meanings. The latest Kardashian baby, Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick's son, was named Reign. When North was born in 2013, Kardashian's mother, Kris Jenner, revealed on "The View" why her famous daughter and son-in-law chose the name.

"The way [Kim] explained it to me was North means 'highest power,' and she says that North is [Kim and Kanye's] highest point together," Jenner explained. "And I thought that was really sweet."

Kardashian and West, however, are not the first celebrity couple to name their child Saint. According to Entertainment Tonight, Fall Out Boy band member Pete Wentz and his girlfriend, model Meagan Camper, named their son Saint Lazslo in 2014.

Kardashian, who uses social media on a daily basis, has yet to share a photo of the newborn baby boy.
