Mortal Kombat X News: DLC Fighters Announced, Two Movie Characters Added [Watch]
Mortal Kombat X is adding Leatherface, Xenomorph, Bo Rai Cho and Tri-Borg as playable characters.
Gamers already knew the franchise was getting at least four new playable characters, and now fans can stop guessing who they are. All four characters have been officially announced and confirmed by the game's creator and developer.
After leaks appeared on various websites, Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon announced at the Game Awards 2015 that four new characters would be coming to Mortal Kombat X in Kombat Pack 2, Game Spot reports.
Two of the new characters are external and two are from previous installments of Mortal Kombat.
Leatherface is the chainsaw-wielding former butcher from "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre." In the character reveal trailer, Leatherface uses his chainsaw to cut up his opponents. This is the second slasher character to be added to the game, with Jason Voorhees from "Friday the 13th" added via the First Kombat Pack.
Xenomorph is the alien monster from the "Alien" movies. In the trailer, a Xenomorph has implanted an alien inside a characters body, causing the spawn to pop out and likely kill the opponent. This could be Xenomorph's fatality.
Bo Rai Cho is the drunken fist master who first appeared in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance. Bo Rai Cho is obese and usually drunk. Even though he is usually drunk and slow, Bo Rai Cho is a skilled fighter with special moves. His puke puddle causes opponents to slip on his vomit and gives him a chance for a free shot at them.
The final character being added to Mortal Kombat X is actually a combination of three characters. Tri-Borg is a hybrid combination of Cyrax, Sektor and Robot Smoke. This special character has not appeared in other Mortal Kombat games, but he will use Cyrax, Sektor and Robot Smoke's moves and likenesses.
Mortal Kombat X's additional characters will come in the Kombat Pack 2, available for $29.99. Kombat Pack 2 is expected in early 2016.
