Shawn Mendes Talks Collaborating With Fifth Harmony, Camila Cabello [Watch]
During a recent interview at KIIS FM's Jingle Ball on Dec. 4, pop singer Shawn Mendes praised the idea of collaborating with Fifth Harmony and discussed writing new music with Camila Cabello.
In an interview with Hollywire in Los Angeles, Mendes revealed he would definitely be up for working on a possible collaboration with the pop group.
"Totally," he said. "Yeah, they're so awesome! They're so talented! Definitely!"
While Fifth Harmony haven't discussed the possibility, they are currently working on their sophomore album and are looking for possible collaborations.
Mendes' collaboration with group member Cabello on the song "I Know What You Did Last Summer" proved to be a success, so the possibility of taking it one step further and singing with the whole group wouldn't be far fetched.
Mendes also dished about the anticipation and nerves of releasing his song with Cabello.
"We were really nervous. You never know how things are going to go over especially with a boy and a girl cause people just like to assume things," he explained, hinting at the dating rumors that continue to revolve around their friendship.
"But we were just so into the song as singers and songwriters. We're so devoted to this song," he added.
When asked if he was interested in more collaborations with Cabello, the Canadian singer revealed that he would like to work with her again in the future, even if Cabello isn't up for it.
"Not at the moment," he said, about writing with Cabello again. "But we definitely will cause she's incredible. I'll force her to write songs with me! She has to."
While at the Jingle Ball, both Mendes and Cabello continued to insist that they are just friends, and there is nothing romantic happening between the two, reported Entertainment Tonight.
"Yeah, we're just friends," Cabello said. "He's like, one of my best friends. He's amazing."
