The Weeknd Releases ‘In the Night’ Video Featuring Girlfriend Bella Hadid [Watch]
The Weeknd has released his "In the Night" music video, which features his girlfriend Bella Hadid.
Some viewers compared the clip to Michael Jackson's popular music videos from the 1980s, according to People.
The 25-year-old "Can't Feel My Face" singer's girlfriend Hadid plays a sexy but deadly dancer in the clip, which was directed by BRTHR. The 19-year-old model faces off against a group of hoodlums who take over her nightclub.
In one scene of the video, Hadid appears to be taken hostage, while a man smoking a cigarette asks her, "Are you afraid?"
Instead of the damsel in distress scenario, however, the video sees Hadid rescuing The Weeknd, who is singing in the rain for most of the clip. At one point he is held at gunpoint and Hadid shoots the villain. The two then defeat a bunch of crooks in the club, before riding off together on a motorcycle.
The singer's performance at the 2015 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show aired on Tuesday night, which also saw musical appearances from Selena Gomez and Ellie Goulding.
Models on hand for the night included returning models Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Behati Prinsloo, Candice Swanepoel and Lily Aldridge. New participating Victoria's Secret Angels included Elsa Hosk, Jac Jagaciak, Jasmine Tookes, Kate Grigorieva, Lais Ribeiro, Martha Hunt, Romee Strijd, Sara Sampaio, Stella Maxwell and Taylor Hill.
The Weeknd released his second studio album "Beauty Behind the Madness" on Aug. 28. This album, which topped the U.S. Billboard 200, Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and U.K. Albums charts, produced the singles "Often," "The Hills," "Can't Feel My Face" and "In the Night."
"Beauty Behind the Madness" is the followup to Weeknd's debut studio album, "Kiss Land," which produced the singles "Kiss Land," "Belong to the World," "Love in the Sky," "Live For," "Pretty" and "Wanderlust."
