According to several reports, the New York Yankees continue to get active this offseason and they are looking for a possible deal for Andrew Miller. The 30-year-old left-handed reliever was already part of some trade rumors as early as the second week of November and the Los Angeles Dodgers are interested in acquiring him.

Bob Nightengale of USA Today noted that the Yankees are discussing a trade with the Dodgers and the Houston Astros regarding Miller. The Astros are likely out of contention to get the 30-year-old reliever as they have already traded for a closer on Wednesday morning when they acquired Ken Giles from the Philadelphia Phillies, per Yahoo! Sports.

The Dodgers halted their pursuit for Aroldis Chapman of the Cincinnati Reds after MLB investigated a domestic violence incident regarding the player. Los Angeles had a deal in place, wherein they will send two young prospects to the Reds for Chapman, as reported by ESPN.

SB Nation reported that Miller has a team-friendly contract with $27 million left on his deal for three more years. He signed with the Yankees last season and he was named the AL Reliever of the Year because of his 2.04 ERA with 36 saves and 100 strikeouts in just 61 2⁄3 innings pitched in 2015.

The report added that the Dodgers could always include Puig or Joc Pederson in a deal, but it would need more pieces from both sides to work. Los Angeles always had a shaky bullpen and they would want someone other than Kenley Jensen to work the late innings.

Jensen was reportedly unhappy when he heard about the Chapman trade and it could have been a lot worse just like what happened with Drew Storen, Jonathan Papelbon and the Washington Nationals. Miller is much more suited in the setup man role and does not have the unstable personality of Chapman.

Los Angeles already have one player under investigation due to domestic violence in outfielder Yasiel Puig and may not want another in their roster because of possible backlash from fans. The Yankees are probably happy with the renewed interest, especially that general manager Brian Cashman can carry on his goal of making their roster cheaper and younger with more upside.

Cashman already has acquired Starlin Castro and Aaron Hicks this offseason -- moves that are part of the Yankees' plans to go young and cheap. They will probably get a few more decent prospects for Miller as well as outfielder Brett Gardner.
