"Halo 5: Guardians" is the gift that keeps on giving and now that the holidays are coming, a new update is coming for free with a bunch of treats for the players. Developer 343 Industries revealed that the next free REQ pack is arriving next week with Forge, new maps, playlists and more.

According to the official report on the Halo Waypoint, this new update is dubbed The Cartographer's Gift in time for the Christmas season. The content will be extensive for this patch especially since the fan-favorite Forge mode will be returning to "Halo 5: Guardians."

In a previous post on Halo Waypoint back in October, the developer talked about the fifth installment's Forge mode, which allows players to create and collaborate on their environments. The new Forge will reportedly be a more efficient version of the beloved original with an upgraded control scheme, grid/rotation snaps, grouping and many more.

"Halo" players will be receiving the Forge mode in time for the holiday break. Additionally, there are more contents they will be getting.

"Today, we're excited to reveal each unlockable REQ," 343 Industries reported in the recent report. "Included are weapons, armor, and emblems you might recognize from past 'Halo' titles, as well as some new additions."

The Forge mode isn't the only feature making a comeback in The Cartographer's Gift. The SPNKr Rocket Launcher will also be available soon through the December update, coming in four different variants ranging from rare to legendary.

A number of maps, weapons, skins and armors are also going to make its way to "Halo 5: Guardians"." Players may see the complete list on the official Halo Waypoint website.

While the upcoming REQ Pack will be free, the sales of the packs have been a successful venture for 343 Industries. The developer previously promised that a portion of the profit will be going to the "Halo World Championships" prize pool and the total amount has continued to balloon, indicating that REQ sales have been doing well.

A report from VG24/7 revealed that after hitting the $1.5 million mark last month, the "Halo World Championships" overall prize pool now sits at a whopping $2 million. Half of this amount is directly from 343 Industries while the other million was from the REQ Pack sales, the official "Halo" Twitter account said.

The Halo World Championships is a competition that will be held all over the world with online and live components, according to a report from Mic. It will run from December 2015 to March 2016.
