Before we know it, 2015 will be here, and Star Wars Episode 7 will be in theatres. And, if you believe Disney president Alan Horn, the much-anticipated film is already shooting!

According to ComingSoon.net, Horn confirmed that the screenplay is complete, and was written by Lawrence Kasdan and JJ Abrams, based on an earlier draft by Michael Arndt. Kasdan, you may recall, was the script doctor behind The Empire Strikes Back, which is unanimously regarded as the best Star Wars film of the saga.

Horn gave an interview to Stephen Galloway of The Hollywood Reporter at Loyola Marymount University School of Film and Television in Los Angeles. At the interview, he confirmed that they "were shooting some of [the film] now" even though the film isn't scheduled to begin "officially" shooting on May 15th. And even though casting is still incomplete -- "We have a lot of them [in place]," he said about the main actors, whose names have not been disclosed. "We're just not completely done yet." -- Horn didn't disclose which actors were in place, or what the basis of the script was, or anything that may give "Star Wars" fans any clues as to what to expect from the upcoming film.

Horn also confirmed that the Star Wars saga is ultimately a nine-picture franchise -- of course, we already know that the first 6 pictures are already in the can, and have earned their place in the pop culture zeitgeist.

And these nine pictures don't include the various "spin off" films, such as the rumored Boba Fett film (which is also scripted by Lawrence Kasdan), and all of the other films that explore the origin stories of the popular characters.
