Hip-hop artist Meek Mill could possibly be sent back to prison for violating his parole.

TMZ reports Meek appeared in court on Thursday, after he allegedly failed to obtain a travel voucher before leaving Philadelphia.

While nothing is confirmed, it is speculated that Meek did not get permission to go to AMAs with girlfriend Nicki Minaj in Los Angeles on Nov. 22.

According to a tweet by Shawnette Wilson of Fox 29, the rapper's day in court ended without resolution and will resume next week with more witnesses.

Philly Inquirer writer Aubrey Whelan also covered the proceedings, noting that rapper Nicki Minaj testified on her boyfriend's behalf.

Minaj pleaded that Meek was "occasionally irresponsible," but was working on growing up.

"He never purposefully goes against rules," she said to the court. "He absolutely wants to make this a smooth transition."

Meek's defense attorney, Frank DeSimone, praised Minaj's influence on Meek. He argued his client's actions were motivated by his recent success in music.

"His life is chaos. It's more immaturity than anything else," DeSimone said. "This is almost a child. He's 28."

Common Pleas Court Judge Genece Brinkley indicated she felt Meek was being disrespectful, saying he was "thumbing his nose" at her.

Before his appearance in court, Meek took to Instagram to ask his fans and supporters to pray for him.

Meek Mill has faced legal troubles since 2008, when he was convicted on gun and firearms charges. While he only served eight months initially, he subsequently violated his parole by traveling without consent, badmouthing the District Attorney’s Office on social media, and changing his phone number without informing his probation officers.

"I didn't want to do this, but you made me do this," the judge told him, before sending him back to jail for five additional months.
