'X-Men: Apocalypse' News Update and Plot Spoilers: First Trailer is Revealed
The first trailer to "X-Men: Apocalypse" has been revealed.
The new trailer reveals Apocalypse and shows a lot of destruction and chaos. Additionally it reveals that Mystique is no longer working with Magneto and she does not use her blue skin, which has been iconic to the series. The new trailer also shows the younger versions of Jean Grey, Cyclops and Storm. It also shows that Magneto is tormented but has decided to work for Apocalypse. The final images of the trailer show Xavier finally bald.
There is currently no plot synopsis revealed but based on the trailer it seems very obvious that this will be an epic film. Fox is keeping the film under wraps as it is one of the most anticipated films of the year and one that could easily break box office records.
The last two X-Men films, "First Class" and "Days of Future Past," were critically acclaimed and were among the biggest box office hits for the franchise. Fox is currently working on spinoffs for X-Men since there is no confirmation on whether or not the actors will return for another film.
The studio is currently working on "Gambit" with Channing Tatum and "Deadpool" with Ryan Reynolds. These are two X-Men characters that have been featured in many of the comics and which are among the most popular for Marvel. Fox currently has no plans to work with Marvel on their universe but things could change if they decide to make another "Fantastic Four" film.
The upcoming "X-Men: Apocalypse" is scheduled for May 27, 2016 and stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar Isaac, Nicholas Hoult, Rose Byrne, Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, Olivia Munn, Lucas Till, Evan Peters, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Alexandra Shipp, Josh Helman, Lana Condor and Ben Hardy. Bryan Singer is back in the director's chair with a script from Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris.
