‘Blue Bloods’ Season 6, Episode 10 Recap: ‘Flags of Our Fathers’ Midseason Finale
The mid-season finale for Season 6 of "Blue Bloods" put both Frank and Danny Reagan in awkward positions where they had to make hard and unpopular decisions.
Episode 10, titled "Flags of Our Fathers," featured storylines dominated by Frank and Danny in different situations, according to TV Fanatic.
The primary storyline for the episode and the NYPD was when Danny was forced to submit to questioning about his ex-partner, who was believed to have planted evidence to put a murderer behind bars.
Danny got both sides of the story and, when he put his best side on the table for the D.A. investigators, he might have came up a little shorthanded. There is after all a code to adhere to within the department, which is to protect your own people. But that rule can be broken if the circumstances were extreme enough.
As for Frank, being commissioner of a bustling world-class city has many downsides to the job. He has a civic duty to uphold and honor to maintain. But there are also constitutional freedoms at stake in certain circumstances.
Those freedoms became the main issue for him when the anti-government group Battle For Peace planned to stage a demonstration in New York City. They also planned to burn an American flag, which could in effect start a riot or instigate violence at some point.
Nevertheless, he was posed with a responsibility to issue the permit for the group and maintain his civic duty.
But Frank is nothing if not crafty. The permit was issued and there were police assigned to the event to make sure that there were no public safety issues. Keeping the people safe was his No. 1 priority so when a security issue was raised, he brilliantly forced them to move the demonstration to another location. That location was where the father of the leader of the anti-government group was buried.
