Microsoft introduces its new wearable device. Microsoft Band 2 brings in brand new features perfect for music lovers and fitness buffs.

According to Phone Arena, the new wearable device from Microsoft now comes with exclusive features requested by customers. One of the most remarkable features available is an all-new music control, which allow players to "play, pause or skip tracks from the device being worn on their wrist."

Furthermore, the music controls from the Microsoft Band 2 will allow players to increase or decrease the music's volume. Users can connect the new wearable device to any mobile music app installed on their phone through Bluetooth.

For fitness enthusiasts, Microsoft Band 2 also has features to allow users to stay active through reminders. According to official Microsoft blog, the new Band provides notifications to users to remind them to get up, move and be active when they have been still for too long.

With this feature, users can pick time intervals as well as the days they want to receive the reminders. It is also possible to set a period of time where reminders won't be necessary such as when the user is driving or sleeping.

Furthermore, the Microsoft Band 2 update now makes it easier for users to review exercise activity and performance. With the Exercise Tile, it's more convenient to track the user's calorie burn, duration as well as heart rate.

Microsoft Band 2 users can pick popular exercise options like weightlifting and Yoga and can even name their own exercise.

"When you review your exercise sessions in the Microsoft Health app or Web Dashboard, your summaries and observations will be grouped by exercise type for better insights into your performance," the Microsoft blog further explained.

The latest Microsoft Band is available on brick-and-mortar retail stores of Microsoft, via online purchase at Microsoftstore.com as well as through third-party sellers. The wearable device comes with a $249 price tag.

As for the specs, the report from Phone Arena shared that the Microsoft Band 2 update has an AMOLED screen with a resolution of 300 x 128 pixels. The battery can last up to 48 hours.

When it comes to connectivity options, the new Microsoft Band can be paired with devices running on Android 4.4 OS or higher and Windows 8.1 or higher through Bluetooth 4.0 LE. It is also compatible with Apple iPhone 4S and later models, or those with iOS 8.1.2 and higher versions.
