Google Nexus 6P: Google Cuts Price of Larger Nexus Smartphone by $50
Google is cutting the price of its premium flagship Nexus phone by $50 for the first time. The Nexus 6P will be reduced by $50 in all three versions as part of Google's holiday sale.
With the sale from Google, customers can now purchase the 5.7-inch premium smartphone made by Huawei for as low as $449, CNet reports.
According to the Google Store, this deal will continue until Dec. 30. The best part of the deal is that every item in the Google Store, including the Nexus 6P, will come with free overnight shipping.
The Nexus 6P comes in three varieties, one with 32 GB of storage for $449, one with 64 GB of storage for $499 and the high capacity 128 GB variety for $599.
The deal on the Nexus 6P matches the price cut on the Nexus 5X, which was reduced by $50 on Dec. 9. This drops the Nexus 5X with 16 GB down to $329 and the 32 GB version down to $379.
The Nexus 6P is Google's premium smartphone and it comes unlocked. Customers can take the Nexus 6P to any carrier they choose.
Nexus devices offer the cleanest version of Android, meaning no bloatware or annoying customized features. Since the phones are directly from Google, they also are the first to receive the upgrades to the latest version of Androids. The Nexus 6P comes preloaded with Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
The Nexus 6P has a metal body, the 5.7-inch screen with a 2,560 x 1,440 pixel resolution, a fingerprint sensor, front-facing speakers, a powerful camera and a long-lasting battery. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor.
The Nexus 5X is made by LG and has 5.2-inch screen and less powerful internal specs.
Google is also reducing prices on the Huawei Watch and Chromebooks. The Huawei Watch drops $50 to $399 and Chromebooks will be reduced by $10 to $30, depending on the model.
