The next generation of Apple iPads is set to be released in 2014 -- if you believe the buzz around the blogosphere -- and a few specs have been leaked to the press about it. And, if you believe what some of the concepts are suggesting, the iPad Air 2 will be the best iPad yet!

According to the International Business Times, industry analyst Matt Margolis has some inside access into Apple's deep dark recesses, and he's suggesting that the new iPad will drop sometime in the third quarter. In addition, Apple watchers can expect that their beloved new iPad will have unprecedented memory, camera, and Retina capabilities. "Apple is set to showcase LPDDR4 DRAM memory across their 2014 hardware portfolio," Margolis wrote on his April 2 blog post.

The Micron -- which is where Apple will be getting their RAM chips -- is, of course, unprecedented in their offerings. Micron offerings includes DRAM, SDRAM, flash memory, SSD and CMOS image sensing chips. Its consumer products are marketed under the brands Crucial Technology and Lexar. Micron and Intel together created IM Flash Technologies, which produces NAND flash memory. Micron was named one of Thomson Reuters top 100 global innovators in 2012 and 2013. Micron Technology is also ranked among the Top 5 Semiconductor producing companies in the world. As of January 2014, its market capitalization was $26 billion.

Meanwhile, according to BenZinga, there are some early concept drafts being released of the new iPad Air 2. Amongst the designs: an edgeless display made with sapphire crystals, TouchID, and a SmartPanel dock. Apple has also acquired PrimeSense (whose original technology was used in Microsoft's Kinect) last November, which suggests that the new iPad will have some Windows-compatible programs/apps (if so, it will succeed in edging Android-based tablets out of the market).

The iPad Air is the fifth generation iPad tablet computer designed, developed and marketed by Apple Inc. It was announced on Oct. 22, 2013 and was released in space gray and silver colors on Nov. 1, 2013. The iPad Air features a thinner design with similarities to the iPad Mini, along with using the same 64-bit Apple A7 processor with M7 coprocessor.
