Adele has finally said goodbye to smoking.

The "When We Were Young" singer revealed on Friday that she quit smoking out of fear that it might cut her life short.

"If I'd carried on smoking, I'd probably have died from a smoking-related illness, and I think that's really bad," Adele told the Mirror. "If I was dying from lung cancer I would have potentially given it to myself and that wouldn't be something I'd be proud of."

According to the Mirror, Adele used to smoke a whopping 25 cigarettes per day. The singer was apparently smoking this amount of cigarettes in 2011, when she was forced to cancel performances after losing her voice during a live radio session in France.

"Like someone put a curtain over my throat ... and I could feel it," Adele said of the voice mishap during an interview with "60 Minutes" back in 2012. "It felt like something popped in my throat."

Adele also cited her son Angelo as one of the reasons she quit smoking.

"I absolutely loved it, but it's not that f*cking cool when I'm dying from a smoking-related illness and my kid is, like, devastated," she told Rolling Stone last month.

On top of giving up cigarettes, Adele also told Rolling Stone that she reduced the amount of alcohol she consumes. She now only has about one drink per week.

"I used to be able to drink anyone under the table and still be able to put on an all night show," she said. "But with kids, hangovers are torture. They just know. They pick up on it and just go for you."

Despite the medical setbacks, Adele and her voice appear to be back in tiptop shape. The singer is slated to kick off her third concert tour on Feb. 29, 2016 in Europe. She will then head to the states in July. So far, the tour is set to include Europe and North America, with a total of 105 shows.
