Fantasy Football Playoffs 2015 Rankings, Sleepers and Week 16 Waiver Wire: Top 5 NFL Players to Pick up This Week
The waiver wire is absolutely critical for Fantasy Football owners everywhere. Staying on top of free agency can make or break your team every week. Disappointing play and injuries often lead Fantasy Football owners to check their waiver wires to help aid their rosters week in and week out.
Here are five players you should consider singing off the waiver wire this week.
1. Willie Snead
The New Orleans Saints haven't done much right this season, but if you're having wide receiver troubles, go ahead and take a chance on Willie Snead. Snead ranks second on the Saints in receiving yards this season with 798 yards. Only Brandin Cooks has more yards than Snead on the Saints roster so far. Snead has a favorable matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 15. The Jaguars secondary ranks 25th overall in yards given up. In Snead's last game, he put up 122 yards against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
2. James White
The Patriots running backs are hurting. Dion Lewis went out early on, and LeGarrette Blount was recently put on injured reserve. James White is the next man up. Technically White is a running back, but he's making a bigger impact in the passing game. In the last three games, White has put up 115, 38 and 71 receiving yards. With Julian Edelman out and Danny Amendola now hurt, White could very well become Tom Brady's security blanket against the New York Jets. White has also found the end zone for the last three consecutive weeks.
3. Ryan Fitzpatrick
It may sound terrible to say, but losing Geno Smith during the preseason was the best thing that happened to the New York Jets. IK Enemkpali breaking Smith's jaw made a big difference. Ryan Fitzpatrick is playing the best football of his career this season. This year, Fitzpatrick has thrown a career high 26 touchdowns and just 12 interceptions, and he has built great chemistry with receivers like Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker. In the next game, Fitzpatrick takes on the New England Patriots, who may not have Devin McCourty or Patrick Chung on the field. Back in Week 7, Fitzpatrick threw for 295 yards, two touchdowns and zero interceptions against the Patriots.
4. Will Tye
Larry Donnell is out for the year, but Will Tye has been fairly productive in his place at the tight end position. Tye has caught a touchdown the last two consecutive weeks from Eli Manning, and don't be surprised if the undrafted tight end gets more balls thrown his way next week against the Minnesota Vikings. It looks like Odell Beckham Jr. is going to serve a one-game suspension for his actions against Carolina Panthers cornerback Josh Norman, so Tye should be more involved in the offense going forward.
5. Kirk Cousins
So many quarterbacks are hurting right now that you would be foolish not pick up Kirk Cousins if you're having passing problems. Tony Romo, Andrew Luck, Andy Dalton and Peyton Manning are all out with injuries. Cousins has been playing fantastically lately. He had a four-touchdown, zero-interception performance against the Buffalo Bills this past week, and he now leads the NFL in completion percentage. He hasn't even thrown multiple interceptions since Week 6 against the New York Jets. Cousins is only owned by 8.6 percent of Fantasy Football owners. More good news: The Washington Redskins take on the Philadelphia Eagles secondary next week.
