"The Daily Show" mocked the unfortunate scheduling of the Democratic primary debate on Saturday on Twitter.

There has been some chatter online about why the Democratic National Committee has been scheduling debates on days when no one is likely to watch. After live-tweeting the better scheduled GOP debates, "The Daily Show" picked up on the scheduling story and presented a series of pre-tweets for those who did not plan to actually watch.

According to The Huffington Post, the host and his crew staged a Twitter coup by sending out a series of prepared tweets over the weekend. They apparently had the messages ready ahead of time because there was reason to believe that anyone was really watching the debate, emphasizing the point with the hastag #NotReallyWatching.

"Srsly, ‪#DemDebate on Saturday night? Again?? We've gone ahead and scheduled some pre-written tweets. No one'll notice. ‪#NotReallyWatching," the first tweet read.

Some subsequent tweets simply stated the obvious. They commented on patterns and cliched topics from every previous Democratic debate, making light of the old issues and patterns that many candidates fall into.

"Hillary definitely said a thing right there! We will certainly hear about that again. Wow. ‪#DemDebate ‪#NotReallyWatching," one tweet read.

But then the rest of the tweets seemed to go off the deep end. The comedians began commenting on far-fetched twists of events, mocking the candidates based on their character traits alone and not their actual comments.

They started off by suggesting Gov. Martin O'Malley was playing his guitar, covering the hit song "Wonderwall." They then segued over to Lincoln Chaffee streaking across the debate stage and then put Jim Webb's head in a giant pickle jar. They even featured GIFs from "The Wiz" and other comical videos.

They ended the series of tweets by thanking the Democrats for scheduling yet another debate on a Saturday and ruining everyone else's good time. Unfortunately, the pre-scheduled tweets did not fire at the right times, and the debate was not over when they posted the final message.
