Former "Drake & Josh" star Drake Bell was arrested early Monday morning on suspicion of driving under the influence in Glendale, California.

Glendale Police spokeswoman Tahnee Lightfoot said the actor was pulled over around 2 a.m. by police. He was said to be drifting lanes, traveling at an unsafe speed and abruptly stopped at a red light.

According to Lightfoot, officers "smelled an odor of alcohol" coming from Bell's vehicle and gave the former child star a sobriety test, which he "did not satisfactorily complete."

The former Nickelodeon star was traveling alone when he was stopped by police. The singer-songwriter was placed under arrest and was released, on the same day. According to TMZ, Bell was released on a citation after posting $20,000 in bail. The local authorities will present the case to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office when the investigation is completed.

The 29-year-old starred on Nickelodeon's "Drake & Josh" from 2004-2007. He also starred opposite actress Amanda Bynes in "The Amanda Show" from 1999 to 2001. Most recently, the actor has been the voice of Peter Parker/Spider-Man on the Disney XD animated series, "Ultimate Spider-Man." Bell is scheduled to go on a concert tour in Mexico at the beginning of next year.

This is the second time controversy has followed the actor in 2015. In June, Bell made headlines after tweeting that he would continue to call Olympian and reality TV star Caitlyn Jenner by her previous name, Bruce Jenner. After receiving backlash from fans online, Bell deleted the tweet and issued an a public apology for his insensitive remarks.

Bell has yet to comment on his Monday arrest.
