Klaus (Joseph Morgan) will go on a bloodthirsty hunt for retribution following Cami's (Leah Pipes) shocking death, when the "The Originals" returns next month.

The midseason finale ended with a huge cliffhanger that left fans wondering whether Cami is gone for good. Right before she was tragically stabbed to death by Aurora (Rebecca Breeds), she and Klaus shared a passionate kiss and intimate night together. However, Klaus woke up the next morning to discover that Cami's throat had been slashed in her sleep.

A promo video for the next new episode shows an angry and violent Klaus, hungry for vengeance following the loss of his love.

The winter finale also marked the return of Claire Holt as Rebekah to New Orleans. However, she was nearly driven insane by a mark on her wrist that caused her to try to kill the people that she loved, reports E! News. As a result, she asked her brother Elijah (Daniel Gillies) to dagger her yet again.

When asked if Elijah daggering Rebekah will really stop the family portion of the prophecy, executive producer Michael Narducci told Entertainment Weekly that "that's definitely their intention," but it does not guarantee that this will stop the prophecy from being fulfilled.

"They know that the three remaining Mikaelson siblings that are vampires, that have sire lines, they will fall my friend, by foe, and by family. And Rebekah says, 'I'm a mess. I'm cursed. I'm going to spiral out of control. I will be an enemy to this family. You've got to put me down and maybe, maybe if you put me down, that will have eliminated one facet of this prophecy, and that would mean that you don't have to look at Klaus with suspicion anymore, and maybe the two of you united have a chance to deal with everything else,'" Narducci said. "Now, is that going to play out exactly that way?"

Narducci also teased that Elijah did not use a cursed dagger, so that means that Rebekah will be unconscious, but not dead.

"Rebekah's going for a little nap," the EP said. "She will be tucked away and hidden away, but she's not in pain and she's safe and we're going to find a way to cure her and pull that dagger out of her at some point in the future."

However, he hinted that Rebekah won't return until this prophecy mess is completely over.

"We could see her back but it would interrupt that logical thought process that I was describing earlier. If she came back, then we would have to be wary of our family again, so they may have motive to allow her to be daggered until this prophecy comes to a head," he said.

Season 3 of "The Originals" will return on Friday, Jan. 29 at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
