Just a few days after confirmation came from the Star Wars camp that Tatooine will be, once again, featured in Episode 7, additional reports have confirmed that J.J. Abrams and company have set up shop in Abu Dhabi to begin filming!

According to The New York Daily News, the original Tatooine was, of course, shot in Tunisia, but director JJ Abrams has decided to look to Abu Dhabi to film the scenes of Tatooine because of "instability" in the Tunisian region. What's interesting is the Tunisian region is still a tourism draw for Star Wars fans, because many of the set remains are still in the desert.

And industry insiders suggest that the same will happen in Abu Dhabi, as well, when the set remains are left behind in that region as well.

The shoot will take place over a period of four weeks.

According to The Hollywood Reporter -- which has been at the forefront of reporting the latest and greatest of Star Wars Episode 7 news -- Disney, to this day, refuses to comment on the movie and its updates. But what's interesting about Tatooine is that it's appeared in every Star Wars film to date, except The Empire Strikes Back.

"Abu Dhabi is becoming a destination for high-profile studio shoots and the move comes after Universal's Fast & Furious 7 crew traveled to the city as the tentpole resumed production in April," said The Hollywood Reporter.

The movie will also shoot at London's Pinewood Studios.

No word yet on where, if anywhere else, the film will shoot. Of course, neither Disney nor JJ Abrams have officially released the cast names.

Abu Dhabi is the capital and the second most populous city in the United Arab Emirates and also capital of the largest of the UAE's seven member emirates. The city proper had a population of 921,000 in 2013.
