WWE Rumors: Triple H to Win Royal Rumble?
The latest rumor on the winner of the 2016 Royal Rumble is an odd one, Triple H. Yes, the semi-retired wrestler and the most prominent authority figure in the WWE the past two years has a chance to win the Royal Rumble that would make the internet wrestling community really angry.
According to Justin LaBar of TribLive, Triple H is close to returning to television after being attacked by WWE champion Roman Reigns at the conclusion of the TLC PPV on Dec. 13. WWE Chairman Vince McMahon returned to television as a temporary adversary for the champion.
The feud has worked out so far with Reigns getting over the crowd as expected, but a return by Triple H will further up the storyline heading to WrestleMania 32. LaBar added that a match between Reigns and "The Game" is predictable and it will likely happen at the Royal Rumble.
Reigns is expected to enter WrestleMania 32 in Dallas as the WWE champion and his opponent is none other than, John Cena. It will mark as the passing of the torch moment where Cena puts over Reigns as the new top babyface of the company and headline the new era in the WWE.
However, former WWE referee Jimmy Korderas has a suggestion for the creative team with Triple H winning the Royal Rumble. He noted on CSR Wrestling that Mr. McMahon's job is to make Reigns life a living hell.
It starts with Triple H returning for vengeance and entering the 30-Man Royal Rumble where he will win. He then faces off against Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania 32, while the rest of The Authority pulls out all the stops including interference from Sheamus and the rest of the League of Nations.
Members of the D-Generation X could also make an appearance, as well as the return of J&J Security that will put the numbers game in favor of Triple H. The interference could lead to a save by The Usos and the returning The Rock, who just announced this week that he will be appearing at WrestleMania 32.
Reigns could get over big time in that scenario and WWE could also use it as a platform for a future showdown between The Rock and Triple H. The two was rumored to face off for next year's WrestleMania, but an insurance clause in The Rock's movie contract prevented it.
According to Wrestling Inc, there is a possibility that WrestleMania 33 will be held in Orlando, Florida. It is the perfect time for the WWE to induct The Rock into the Hall of Fame right in his hometown, as well as a retirement match for "The Great One."
