Getting high just got a little technological in Colorado, and just in time too as the stoner's holiday is right around the corner.

On Friday, Colorado's first ever mary jane-spewing machine was revealed at Montana's Smokehouse in Avon, a town in Eagle County. The machine has been dubbed (excuse the pun) the Zazzz and was delivered by American Green.

"Many people could look at this and say that's just a vending machine, and they'd be right but mostly wrong," Stephen Shearin of American Green told KDVR.

The Zazzz is not operating yet, but once it is, hungry patrons can use it to buy edibles, or food baked with marijuana. Herbal Elements, a local dispensary, will supply the treats.

"We're looking forward to using the Zazzz machine to easily track all this inventory," Greg Honan, Herbal Elements owner, explained. "...We're gonna eliminate the middle man. It'll go straight from the budtender right into our machine."

The new machine is not all about getting high; there is a business aspect behind it. According to KDVR, some are looking at the Zazzz as Colorado's "future of marijuana," as it eliminates sales people and boring lines.

"There's no room for theft by patients, employees," Honan added. "... there's no way to lose track of the inventory."

Just because the edibles are coming from a machine, doesn't mean just anyone can use it. Patrons will have to provide the Zazzz with their ID card and medical marijuana card before getting served.

"I don't think we've dreamed what it can do yet, and that's the whole point," Shearin said.

Herbal Elements said via Twitter that although the Zazzz was displayed at Montana's Smokehouse, it will not be stationed there once in use.

"The machine, when operating, will only be in a licensed facility furthering steps in compliance, age verification, & inventory tracking," the company tweeted. "There has not been any marijuana in the #zazzz machine & will not be any marijuana in the machine until all authorities ok its proposed use."

The Zazzz creators have dreams of multiple machines debuting "soon," according to KDVR.

"You start with this, and you start making your way into the future," Shearin said. "I think this is a great starting point, and we're excited about it."

It has yet to be determined if the Zazzz will be useable in time for "420," the marijuana celebratory holiday that occurs on April 20th (get it?), but it will likely be on smokers' minds, especially if they're looking for a quick way to get both fed and high.
