Casting for the movie adaptation of E.L. James's Fifty Shades of Grey novel was highly scrutinized, but it seems that those in charge knew who they wanted and didn't want for the film.

While on the Red Carpet for Sunday's MTV Movie Awards, Rita Ora revealed that she originally had no intention of playing Mia Grey, Christian Grey's sister. In fact, she said she only contacted the film's production team to ask if she could work on the soundtrack.

"It ended up with me being in the movie," she told MTV. "I'm not going to complain."

Ora wasn't just handed the role, however.

"I did like eight auditions, so I thought I would never get it," the singer revealed. "It was incredible that it worked out."

The "R.I.P." singer doesn't have many acting credits. She had an uncredited role as a racer in Fast & Furious 6.

"Doing the movie was probably one of the best things ever," Ora continued. "Being in Vancouver, getting out of the music and just making it work was really good."

So how did the movie, which is done filming, turn out?

"I've seen some," Ora revealed. "I've definitely seen my parts. I'm literally sworn to secrecy, but what I can say is expect something that would really make it worth your while."

So if filmmakers went out of their way to put Ora in the film, why didn't they do the same for Aaron Taylor-Johnson? The husband of director Sam Taylor-Johnson seemed like an obvious choice for the role of Christian Grey. Again, however, it seems the creatives knew what they wanted.

"I think it would have been the wrong kind of hype to bring toward us," the 23-year-old actor said for the May issue of Nylon Guys. "It would have been kind of funny that this character that all these women fancy -- he's one in a million -- and my wife picks her husband to play the part? I would love to have done something together again, but it wouldn't have been Fifty. We were both on the same page."
