"Wrecking Ball" singer Miley Cyrus and ex-boyfriend, "Hunger Games" star Liam Hemsworth, surprised many after being spotted together in Australia along with Hemsworth's family last Sunday, sparking reconciliation rumors after their highly publicized breakup in 2013.

It was a big surprise when the two, who many thought wouldn't reunite in any way, spent the holidays together, according to E! News. There are even rumors claiming that the formerly engaged Hollywood couple may be back again romantically.

"Miley came back to LA on Monday after spending the holidays with Liam. She had the time of her life being with him and his family," an insider told the publication.

"She feels like they could pick up right where they left off. Miley has never gotten over Liam and always hoped they would get back together. She doesn't know where it will go, but she definitely still loves him and wants to be with him. Liam has an interest in being back together too," the insider added.

The rumors sparked when Cyrus and Hemsworth were photographed together in Australia on New Year's Eve with Hemsworth's sister-in-law and Chris Hemsworth's wife, Elsa Pataky.

Pataky even posted a group photo on Instagram with Cyrus close to her, proving the rumors to be true. "Me encanta la gente con la que me puedo volver loca./ I love people I can be crazy with!!" Pataky wrote as a caption.


Cyrus and Hemsworth were previously spotted at the Falls Music Festival in Byron Bay but didn't have any photos together. Apparently, The Daily Telegraph revealed that the two were protected by security to prevent people from taking pictures while the former couple lounged at the VIP section backstage.

Hollywood Life speculates that Cyrus wants to kick off their relationship once again. "Miley wants to be a couple again with Liam by the time his big movie comes out this summer. She is really loving that they have reconnected and are working on a future and she will do anything to keep it going strong," a source told the publication.

"She is embracing her second chance. They are working on it day by day but she wants to be exclusive and official and have everyone know they are back on with no questions needed to be asked," the source added.

Meanwhile, Cyrus and Hemsworth have yet to confirm or deny the circulating reconciliation rumors.
