Did Ted Cruz Copy Donald Trump's Speech About Mexican Border?
Donald Trump is still on top of the headlines after accusing Senator Ted Cruz for copying his speech. Trump has been consistent with his statements in regards to building a wall along the U.S. - Mexican border to minimize America's undocumented immigrants that's been the country's ongoing problem as per Latino Fox News' report.
The issue started when Ted Cruz included the issue of immigration in his platform. His campaign website imposed the idea of building a 700 mile fence along the U.S.-Mexican border. Aside from the fence, the campaign website also mentioned adding patrol staff and designate an aerial surveillance within the border.
Part of Trump's plan to minimize or abolish illegal migrants is to establish a deportation army that would focus on removing and dealing with America's illegal immigrants. As per Latino Fox News, there are at least 12 million immigrants that are undocumented, which is said to be inhumane.
During his interview with "Face of the Nation" on CBS, Donald Trump stated, "I was watching Ted talk. And he said, 'We will build a wall.' The first time I've ever heard him say it. And my wife, who was sitting next to me, said, 'Oh, look. He's copying what you've been saying for a long period of time. Ted Cruz is trying to step up his whole game on amnesty and on illegal immigration, because it was actually quite weak."
In addition to his statement, Trump pointed out that he's the first candidate to touch the topic on illegal immigration. He told John Dickerson, "I'm the one that came up with it. Look. When I announced that I was running, I brought up illegal immigration. It wasn't even a subject that would have been discussed in this debate. And now it's one of the very big subjects."
As per Politico website, Trump did not only slam Cruz but he also hit on Florida Senator Marco Rubio during his talk. The Republican front runner stated that both Cruz and Rubio have been working hand in hand with their attempt to become stronger, but despite their attempt, Trump still referred to them as weak.
Trump may have regarded his opponents as weak, but Trump on the other hand established himself as a strong individual in terms of his plans in dealing with immigrants. He placed himself on the edge stating that none of his opponents could come up with a platform to abolish the ongoing immigrant issue better than he can.
