After WhatsApp recently introduced voice calling on its app, fans were eager to know whether its developers have any plans on eventually integrating the video calling feature.

According to TNH Online WhatsApp developers may have not entirely confirm an upcoming video calling for the app, but leaked information from a certain German website called Macerkopf indicates otherwise.

The website posted some screenshots of what looks like a beta version of WhatsApp for iOS that interestingly shows a video calling feature. The probability of the video calling feature's eventual coming is very high, but given how WhatsApp's developers are keeping mum about it, it might have just reached some form of internal testing.

Meanwhile, WhatsApp Update 2.12.16.2 is dubbed as the updated version that will bring the video calling feature. Not only that, it is also expected to introduce the Multi-tab User Interface that will significantly change the way you use WhatsApp. The Multi-Tab User Interface allows users to navigate between tabs instead of going back to the chat menu every single time. This feature is currently enjoyed by Hangouts and Viber users. If WhatsApp Update 2.12.16.2 has indeed included the Multi-Tab User Interface, it will bring a much more convenient way of chatting for its fan base.

WhatsApp is not far from being the largest used app in terms of free text and calls. With Facebook as its parent company, financing the app's development is not a question.

Should the video calling feature eventually arrive, Skype may finally see a thriving competitor. With over 900 million users all over the world, TechTimes believes that WhatsApp can't afford to stay behind in terms of services offered. This is also probably one of the reasons why insistent rumors about its upcoming video calling keep emerging online.

With a stronghold on backers and enough users to want the video calling feature, another issue that seems to hinder WhatsApp in introducing it is the fact that some countries with a massive amount of users have slow internet connection. This brings the question on whether the application can actually adapt to these levels of networks and make it viable for users to still use the feature on a slow pace internet.

What have you heard about the latest on WhatsApp's video calling feature? Are you looking forward to try this new feature once it comes out?
