In other news regarding "Far Cry Primal," Ubisoft recently held a live stream podcast on YouTube dedicated to the game. During the podcast, developers confirmed that the game can be played without an HUD. They said the option will offer gamers an extra-difficult challenge, especially in areas where they need to use stealth.
Advertised as a "full-fledged single-player experience," the game is set in 10,000 B.C. This is a time when terrifying beasts like the sabre-toothed tiger and woolly mammoth still roamed the earth. Players will take on the role of Takkar, the last known survivor of his tribe.
"The Stone Age is the perfect setting for a Far Cry game," said creative director Jean-Christophe Guyot on Ubi Blog. "It's the time when humans put a stick in the ground and claimed land for their own, the time when we started climbing the food chain. That came with conflict, against other humans of course, but also against nature itself."
As to why the game would not include co-op play, community manager Jason Paradise said bringing the best "Far Cry" experience meant that Ubisoft had to reinvent its core gameplay loop, per Steam.
"Far Cry Primal" will available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on Feb. 23, 2015.
