Several new wearable devices from Samsung are now available. These devices are the Gear Fit, which is a smart fitness band, the Gear 2 and the Gear 2 Neo, which are both smart watches. These devices are not run by Android but rather by Tizen, which Samsung has been using for a quite a while now, and apparently the watches carry a different name now. Instead of Galaxy, the wearable device lineup from the Korean manufacturer goes by the name Gear.

Gear Fit is said to be the first wearable device featuring a curved Super AMOLED touch display and the device is mostly focused on health applications. It is built with a 1.84-inch display and a 432x128p resolution. It includes a heart rate monitor, pedometer, and sleep monitor. Tools include exercise mode, fitness app, timer, stopwatch, smart relay, schedule, and media controller. Wearers will get notifications for calls, SMS, email and apps. A 210mAh battery is used in Gear Fit, which offers 3 to 5 days of usage. The device is currently priced at $199.

On the other hand, the Samsung Gear 2 features a 1.63-inch display, a 2mp auto-focus camera and a metal body. It is water and dust resistant and is built with an accelerometer, heart rate sensor, gyroscope, Bluetooth and IrLED. Both the Gear 2 and Gear Neo are equipped with pedometer and heart sensor along with other useful tools for fitness, such as exercise, stress and sleep meter. They also have the same size of display. However, the Neo does not have a camera. Its battery can last up to 6 days.

The Gear 2 and Neo are companion devices. They can accept or ignore calls and messages as well as provide notification alerts according to your habits and activities. The Gear 2 and Neo are available for $299. Both can be purchased in orange and black colors, but the Gear 2 comes with alternative colored strap bands including a brown option whereas Neo comes only in gray.
