The second round of the NFL playoffs is approaching, and if you're a fan of an NFC East team, your season is over. The Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants failed to make the playoffs while the 9-7 Washington Redskins won the division this season.

It's going to be a long offseason filled with free agency, draft picks and trades. Here are the biggest questions surrounding the NFC East this offseason.

Cowboys

To keep or not to keep Greg Hardy?

The Cowboys are clearly better than their 4-12 record indicates, but they will have the No. 4 overall selection in this upcoming draft. The bigger question, however, surrounds defensive end Greg Hardy. Hardy has been the subject of much criticism, but is he worth keeping? You could definitely make the case he is. Hardy had a huge impact at the line of scrimmage despite missing the first four games of the regular season. To put things into perspective, Demarcus Lawrence didn't post a single sack last season without Hardy on the roster. This year was a breakout season for the former second round pick. Lawrence had a team-leading eight sacks thanks to Hardy getting double teamed.

Jerry Jones has a big decision to make regarding Hardy. Defensive ends are somewhat replaceable, but one can't deny the impact Hardy had on this defensive line.

Eagles

Time to move on from Sam Bradford?

The Chip Kelly era is officially over in the City of Brotherly Love. Regardless of all the huge mistakes Kelly made in the past, the Eagles need a quarterback. It's been a roller coaster ride since Donovan McNabb's departure at this position. Bradford is an average quarterback who will make average plays at an average rate. In the end, he's just an average quarterback. Bradford has never once posted a winning record as a starter in this league, so it's hard to imagine that all of a sudden he's going to lead this team to the promised land. On the other hand, the Eagles may want to keep Bradford for a few key reasons. He is familiar with the players, and this is a terrible offseason for free agent quarterbacks. Brock Osweiler may actually be the best free agent quarterback on the market this offseason.

Redskins

How much is Kirk Cousins worth?

Robert Griffin III will not be on the roster next season, but the Redskins will more than likely keep Kirk Cousins. Cousins had a breakout year this season with 29 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. He had one of the best statistical seasons in franchise history. But, let's be careful not to break the bank. Cousins never led the Redskins to a single victory (0-4) against a team that had a winning record this season. As a matter of fact, Cousins has never defeated a team with a winning record in his career. It's hard to make a case for a $20 million annual contract for a player who has never beat a team with a winning record even once.

Many feel as if Cousins had a breakout season only because it was a contract year. One quality season shouldn't guarantee a huge long term contract. But, as mentioned before, this offseason isn't exactly filled with a lot of notable free agent quarterbacks. Keeping Cousins may be the answer, but only at the right price. You like that?

Giants

Where to spend the money on defense?

The Giants will be spending a majority of their time and money this offseason focusing on the defensive side of the football, and for good reason. The Giants defense was terrible this year ranking dead last in yard allowed, 30th in points given up, and last in passing yards allowed. The Giants have to rejuvenate their defensive line and get far more pressure on the opposing quarterback. Jerry Reese also needs to aid this Giants secondary that got torched on a weekly basis. The NFC East may not be a quality division right now, but it does have outstanding wide receivers and tight ends that embarrassed the Giants secondary all season long. If the Giants even want to even think about winning the division next season, they have improve their defense in a number of areas.
