Sasha Sokol didn't make any new fans when she refused to perform at a recent concert.

Sokol, 43, was supposed to perform alongside Benny Ibarra and Erik Rubín in Veracruz, but she felt her life was at risk because of rainy conditions, according to TV Notas. Ibarra and Rubín tried to persuade her to make an appearance, even telling her that everything was under control, but she would not budge.

Thousands of fans were upset and saddened because the "terrible" weather was nothing more than a little bit of rain, which was caused by a cold front. Organizers said they had no choice and that the concert had to be canceled.

However, not everyone agreed the cancellation was caused by the weather.

"The truth is that there was no motive to cancel the show," an assistant told TV Notas. "Not even Lady Gaga canceled her concert in 2011, and it was actually really raining then. It looks like Sasha, Benny and Erik didn't want to get a little wet, and it's not fair because we were here all day waiting to see them."

The trio performed in Cancun earlier in the month, and their performance was called "magical" by Sipse. The three performed a remix, as well as "Tonto Corazón," "Cuando Mueres Por Alguien" and "Serás El Aire." Ibarra, Rubín and Sokol performed together as well as individually, mixing a bit of an '80s feel into the concert.

Fans, unfortunately, missed out on the magic. And some have taken to social media to voice their disappointment.

The Mexican singer started her singing career in 1981 with Timbiriche. She was Sandy in the Spanish-language version of "Grease," titled "Vaselina." She launched her solo career in 1987 and was eventually nicknamed "The Lady In Black" because of her habit of wearing black clothing. Her last album was released in 2010.
