'Grimm' Season 5 Midseason Premiere Spoilers and Synopsis: Juliette Returns to Portland [Video]
"Grimm" fans looking forward to the show's midseason premiere can expect things to get intense in Portland in wake of Juliette's shocking return as a dangerous woman named "Eve."
The official synopsis for the upcoming episode, titled "Eve of Destruction," reveals that Nick will face more Wesen violence and a few unexpected surprises, including crucial information from Trubel.
"Nick (David Giuntoli) and the gang are still reeling from the scope of the ambush and the surprise return of 'Juliette' (Bitsie Tulloch), but not everything is as it seems. In light of the heightened Wesen violence, Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) and Rosalee (Bree Turner) seek answers from the Wesen Council. Meanwhile, Trubel (guest star Jacqueline Toboni) has some information for Nick that will help him get what he is looking for," it reads, according to CarterMatt.
During an interview with TVLine, "Grimm" co-creator David Greenwalt opened up about Tulloch's new character, Eve, who seems to be inhabiting Juliette's body. She also appears to be extremely dangerous, have ties to the Black Claw and involved in a Wesen plot to take over the world.
"It's not really Juliette anymore. It's this new character, Eve, who has not been brainwashed exactly, but she's been through some incredibly tough training where they broke her down to nothing," Greenwalt said. "She's basically a super Hexenbiest weapon for Hadrian's Wall to fight Black Claw."
Tulloch also talked about her new role as Eve, telling TVLine, "Juliette's flesh and blood, her DNA, is still alive. But this is not Juliette."
The actress added that Eve, unlike Juliette, has a strong handle on her Hexenbiest powers.
"The new character is all about reining it in in and utilizing this in the best possible way, not wasting an ounce of this incredible power that she has," Tulloch said.
"Grimm" Season 5, Episode 7, "The Eve of Destruction," will premiere on Friday, Jan. 29, at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
