'Jane The Virgin' Season 2 Episode 9 Midseason Premiere Spoilers: EP Says Expect 'Big Romantic Developments' [VIDEO]
Fans of "Jane The Virgin" can look forward to more family drama, surprise twists and romance when the popular comedy series returns to The CW later this month.
According to TV Guide, the second half of the season will focus on the build up to Jane's (Gina Rodriguez) wedding, while someone will suffer from a health crisis. Jane's father, Rogelio (Jaime Camil) will launch a new telenovela that will feature him traveling through time and solving problems.
During a recently published interview with TVLine, executive producer Jennie Urman dropped new spoilers about what's to come on the show as Jane's wedding date draws near.
Expect "some pretty definitive moves pretty soon" in the love department, teased the showrunner. "We have some big romantic developments coming [up]. Without saying who it's between, it's going to definitely resonate between [Jane and Rafael] as parents and also in terms of where they are in their relationship," said Urman.
The EP added that Jane's parents, Xo (Andrea Navedo) and Rogelio, are at a "real crossroads" and will both star in Rogelio's new Forrest Gump-like telenovela entitled "Tiago in Time."
Plus, viewers will see Petra (Yael Grobglas) give birth sometime around Episode 14, while her crazy mother will jam her up in a real pickle.
Further, the showrunner says that Luisa's discovery about Mutter/Mia "will lead to something surprising that will circle back in with our main group of characters and will have lasting repercussions."
A trailer video for the next episode, "Chapter Thirty-One," reveals that Jane's grandfather will leave her grandmother for another man.
"Your grandfather is gay and he left me for a man," says Alba (Ivonne Coll) in the teaser video.
Season 2, Episode 9 of "Jane the Virgin" will premiere on Monday, Jan. 25 on The CW.
