Zoe and Lemon endured some dating pitfalls on the latest episode of "Hart of Dixie."

In "Back in the Saddle Again," Zoe (Rachel Bilson) gets back into the dating game after her breakup with Joel (Josh Cooke). She goes out on a dinner date with a man who seems promising at first, but turns out to be obnoxious and narcissistic.

While the attraction didn't last long, her decision to start dating again inspires her to sell the house she and Joel bought together.

Later, Lemon (Jaime King) runs into Peter, the one night stand she had on Halloween. She invites him to her house for dinner, but it quickly fizzles, and she realizes that she doesn't have a future with him.

Zoe and Lemon decide to confide in each other about their lousy dates, signaling a new step in their budding friendship.

Meanwhile, Annabeth (Kaitlyn Black) begins dating Davis after he worked up the courage to divulage that he was her secret admirer.

Lavon (Cress Williams) hears that Annabeth is dating again, and it distracts him so much that he isn't able to win the bid to host the Alabama country fair in Bluebell. Things become worse when he shows up drunk at Annabeth's and accuses her boyfriend of distracting him so he would lose the pitch to win the fair.

Things are also not going well for Wade (Wilson Bethel) and Vivian (Lauren Bittner) after Wade met Vivian's ex-husband, Charles.

There is a palpable distance between Wade and Vivian, as Vivian keeps getting distracted by texts and videos from Charles about Harley's accomplishments. Wade then finds out that Charles spent the night on the couch at Vivian's house.

Also, Magnolia drives Brick (Tim Matheson) up a wall when she shows up at Bluebell, saying she's on her way to a party at Carter Covington's house in Charlestown, S.C.

Brick is naturally worried that a 30-year-old man would invite a teenage girl to his house, so he travels to South Carolina to visit Carter. Carter is very confused, because Magnolia isn't even there.

It turns out that Magnolia told her father the lie to get him out of the house so she could throw a raucous party. Brick then makes the decision to send her to another boarding school.

On the next episode, "A Better Man," "Lemon schemes to improve her health-inspection grade. Elsewhere, Zoe finds herself in an uncomfortable position in Wade and Vivian's relationship; Lavon and AnnaBeth's problems have a negative impact on BlueBell; and George dates a Bible-school teacher."
