Hari Nef is an up-and-coming star on so many levels. From starring in the Amazon television series "Transparent" to sharing her experiences on trans visibility on "Lenny Letter,", the 22-year-old is taking over the entertainment industry one acclaimed step at a time. Her most recent appearance took her strutting down Milan Fashion Week's runway as part of Gucci's fall 2016 menswear show.

The transgender actress, model and It Girl was one of the few women who were tapped to model for the Gucci menswear show. According to a report from Refinery29, Nef was the only transgender in the show and the first ever transgender model of Gucci.

The '70s-inspired, gender-fluid flair of the Gucci collection was a perfect fit for her androgynous look, and her all-red ensemble stole the show as an impressive fusion of various elements: masculine and feminine, period and modern, couture and ready-to-wear.

In an interview with Dazed, the model-turned-actress talked about her relationship with Gucci's creative director Alessandro Michele as well as her pleasure at walking for the major brand.

"I think (Michele) works from his heart," Nef said of the Gucci collection she represented on the runway. "It's an authentic vision and I'm so happy to be a part of it...I've never walked in Europe and I've never walked in a show this big."

Despite being the first transgender signed to IMG Models, who represent several big names like Gisele Bündchen, Kate Moss, Stephanie Seymour and Gigi Hadid, the Gucci menswear show was Nef's biggest walk yet. Her previous work on the runway included cult labels such as Eckhaus Latta, Adam Selman and Vejas, but the model caught the eye of Gucci as she befriended creative director Michele.

"I started out as friends with Alessandro -- I met him while I was in LA," she went on to say. "I had requested a dress to wear for the 'Transparent' premiere and then he requested dinner with me at Chateau Marmont, and we just hit it off. He's a great guy and he sees people, he sees characters...he doesn't really see a lot of the labels."

She added that working with the team is "amazing."

Before walking the show, she also took over Gucci's Snapchat account, according to Gucci's Instagram account.

For now, Nef's star is only on its way up and it's interesting what else is in store for her -- whether it's in modelling, acting or speaking out on transgender issues.
