Tori Spelling Sued by American Express Over Unpaid Credit Card Bill
Tori Spelling has been slapped with a lawsuit by American Express, charging that the "90210 Beverly Hills" star owes nearly $40,000 in unpaid credit card bills.
TMZ reports the daughter of famed producer Aaron Spelling has been behind on her AMEX bill since the summer and on her last balance statement actually owed $37, 981. 97. Reportedly, she hasn't made a payment in several months, and the last one she attempted to make for $1,070 bounced.
The company is now demanding full and immediate payment, including interest on the past due amount.
Money woes have been a constant issue for Spelling and husband Dean McDermott as of late. The two reportedly fought almost nonstop over money during the recent holiday season, with the 49-year-old McDermott constantly badgering his wife about her excessive spending.
"Christmas has always been a very big deal for Tori and she has always gone over the top," a source told Radar Online. "But the reality has set in that with their financial situation the way it is, they just can't buy all of the gifts for the kids that Tori would like. It's depressing for Tori to not be able to go out and just buy the kids the stuff they want."
According to the Daily Mail, the family has now downsized to a smaller residence three times in roughly the last two years. On at least one occasion, Radar reports the couple rented a U-Haul for the move and at least partly handled all the logistics of everything themselves without the help of a team of movers.
In hopes of improving their stressful situation, the 42-year-old Spelling is now rumored to be hoping to get young daughters Stella, 7, and Hattie, 4, more involved in the world of modeling. The two recently appeared in a full Modern Queen Kids ad campaign in full make-up.
