In anticipation of the '90s hit sci-fi series this month, we're listing our Top 5 episodes that are Latino-inspired.

While FBI agents Mulder and Scully weren't exactly venturing out of the U.S. in solving their cases, it can't be helped if several murder mysteries in "The X-Files" would lead outside of the country.

Considering the show became a global hit back in the day - with its two stand-alone films raking in the bucks outside of the U.S. - it's only natural that several episodes in the TV series have a Latino hint.

1. "Teso Dos Bichos"

Aired on March 8, 1996, the episode was reportedly one of the most loathed, according to Entertainment Weekly, via Remezcla.

The episode was shot in Ecuador and told the story of a jaguar spirit doing a killing spree after archeologists transfer a female shaman urn from Ecuador to a Boston museum. Most of the episode featured animal attacks.

2. "El Mundo Gira"

This episode aired on January 12, 1997 and featured Mulder and Scully facing off with Mexico's famed folk creature - the el chupacabra. In the episode, the agents had to work with a Mexican-American INS agent to figure out the cause of bizarre deaths that they suspected was of the el chupacabra, which gossip claims was a man named Eladio Buente.

3. "Little Green Men"

Aired on September 16, 1994, this was the pilot episode of the series' second season. The first episode to actually feature extra-terrestrials, it gained the highest ratings that the show had. Mulder and Scully are seen in Arecibo, Puerto Rico after they hear of reports that an abandoned observatory there had communication with aliens.

4. "F. Emasculata"

The episode aired on April 28, 1995, and was described as the most striking one. It began in the Costa Rican rainforest and showed an entomologist seeing a dead boar with purple pustules. The insect that killed the boar also kills the scientist, and Mulder and Scully had to investigate a prison virus outbreak tied to the dead entomologist.

5. "Fresh Bones"

This episode aired on February 3, 1995 and was set at an INS compound with Haitian refugees. Mulder and Scully investigate a mysterious suicide at the compound and they come across a Haitian voodoo ritual that they suspect was the culprit.
