Billboard Latin Music Awards Flashback: Top 10 Worst Outfits Ever Worn
When it comes to the red carpet, some people shine, and some people fall very short. The Billboard Latin Music Awards are always a mix of impeccable style and questionable moments. This is dedicated to those moments that just didn't make sense. Here are the 10 worst outfits worn to the music ceremony:
10. Carmen Dominicci in 2011
It's a shame to include this dress on this list because the fit is amazing. Time and again starlets have struggled with this silhouette because the dress is a size too small, causing fabric to be taut across the belly area and just creating a terrible illusion. That's certainly not the case here, and Carmen Dominicci's body looks incredible. But that color scheme is just not working and is reminiscent of a certain dinosaur. If it were fully purple or fully green, it would have been a knockout.
9. America Sierra in 2013
This very frilly gown earns its place on the list for having too many ruffles. She doesn't look terrible, but the matching nails and bright pink are just a little too much.
8. Natasha Dominguez in 2013
There's a very strange tassel dangling on the front of the dress. And though it is the most attention-grabbing part of the dress, there are too many competing details. The shoes could have been toned down as it also has dangling elements. The mesh netting on the neckline is also an unnecessary detail, and she shows off a bit of leg. Imagine this dress without the tassel, see-through fabric and plain heels. It's a much cleaner look that draws your attention to that glitzy gown.
7. Maritza Rodriguez in 2013
This seems like even too much mermaid for Sofia Vergara. The color of the gown is actually a very gorgeous gray, but it has one peplum too many. This just serves to break up her body in weird places, and we're sure that's not what she was going for.
6. Melissa 'Crash' Barrera in 2010
Animal prints can be executed well but hardly ever in a dressy setting. This print is too large, and everything from the excessive accessories to the style of the dress only cheapen the look. She does seem to be at least a little on-trend for the year with her accented shoulder. How Lady Gaga of her.
5. Angelica Celaya in 2012
Illusion netting is hard to pull off as it hardly ever matches the wearer's skin tone, and it's especially bad when it's in an awkward place. It's also not helped by the jagged hemline. It's a little Flintstones, which means it's too dressed down at an event where others are wearing gowns.
4. Gabby Villanueva in 2013
First things first: That blue color is stunning. Unfortunately, there's too many things fighting it. A high-low hemline is harder to wear, and pairing it with platform shoes is not the best choice here. Now, everything is a bit too bottom heavy. There are ruffles along the bottom, and the heavy shoes just draw your eye to that area. There's also a slight tan showing, which is definitely a don't when wearing a gown.
3. Martha Pabon in 2013
We know Miami is paradise, but this seems a bit more like a beach dress. She would look perfectly at home by the water, but for the awards, she just looks too casual.
2. Paulina Rubio in 2012
Short dresses can work in these award shows if they have personality, and while this dress is anything but boring, it just doesn't work. It's hard to see her figure because it's so voluminous. The orange belt seems like an afterthought. And there's only one reason this isn't the worst of the lot: There's life in that purple.
1. Carmen Villalobos in 2010
This dress, just like Paulina Rubio's, does nothing for Villalobos' figure. The sash cuts her off at a weird place. She's showing cleavage and leg, and it somehow resembles a robe. The color is also boring, and the accessories are over-the-top matchy.
