'The Big Bang Theory' Season 9 Episode 13 Spoilers: Sheldon's Grandmother Visits [Watch]
Fans can look forward to finally meeting Sheldon's (Jim Parsons) oft-referenced grandmother for the first time in the next all-new episode of "The Big Bang Theory."
Unfortunately, fans of the popular CBS comedy will have to wait an extra week for a new episode, which is scheduled to air on Thursday, Feb. 4. However, it will be well worth the wait, since the brilliant scientist's grandmother will pay her grandson a visit.
As first reported by Entertainment Weekly, Academy Award nominee June Squibb has been tapped to play Sheldon's Meemaw, whom Sheldon has referenced many times over the course of the series. The episode is aptly titled "The Meemaw Materialization."
Meanwhile, the synopsis reveals that she will bump heads with Sheldon's girlfriend Amy (Mayim Bialik).
"Sheldon's thrilled when his Meemaw comes to visit, but his excitement quickly fades when she butts heads with Amy. Also, Raj meets a new girl at the comic book store who makes him question his relationship with Emily, on THE BIG BANG THEORY, Thursday, Feb. 4 (8:00-8:31 PM, ET/PT), on the CBS Television Network. June Squibb guest stars as Sheldon's Meemaw," the description reads, according to KsiteTV.
In a preview photo, Sheldon's grandmother is seen hanging out with her grandson and Amy. Sheldon appears to be enthused over a gift, while Meemaw shoots Amy a disapproving look. In turn, Amy seems to be very disgruntled.
The synopsis also teases Raj's (Kunal Nayyar) encounter with a potential new love interest, a woman named Claire, played by guest star Alessandra Torresani. Wikia reports that Raj will first consider her just a possible work partner. However, he will then fantasize about them developing a deeper relationship. As a result, Claire may come in between him and his girlfriend Emily (Laura Spencer).
Season 9, Episode 13, "The Meemaw Materialization," will premiere on Thursday, Feb. 4 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
