After a series of delays and casting changes, the western film starring Natalie Portman and Ewan McGregor won't be released in 2014, rather it will be released in the first quarter of 2015.

At first, "Jane Got a Gun" was supposed to start filming in 2013, but director Lynne Ramsay didn't show up on the first day of filming and quit, forcing producers to find a new director. Gavin O'Connor stepped in to take that role. O'Connor last big film was 'Warrior'.

Ramsay's leaving of the film led to a lawsuit. In the lawsuit, producers claimed Ramsay was unprofessional, drunk and abusive on the set of the movie, before it even began filming.

Portman, who is also a producer in the film, didn't even know until showing up on the set that the film had lost its director.

"I'm shocked and so disappointed someone would do this to 150 crew members who devoted so much time, energy, commitment and loyalty to a project, and then have the director not show up. It is insane somebody would do this to other people. I feel more for the crew and their families, but we are keeping the show going on, directors are flying in, and a replacement is imminent," producer Scott Steindorff told Deadline.

Cast members have dropped out as well. Michael Fassbender, Jude Law and Bradley Cooper have all quit production of the movie. Joel Edgerton replaced Fassbender and McGregor replaced both Law and Cooper.

The film has Portman taking the part of a farmer wife of an outlaw husband. When her husband's gang turns on him, Portman must defend herself with help from an old lover.

The movie was originally set for an Auggust 2014 release, but Thursday executives at Relativity Media and the Weinstein Co. moved the film back to February 2015.
