"Need for Speed" is hitting maximum speed once more. The best-selling Ghost Games title is gearing up to unleash the hotly-anticipated update entitled "Showcase" with its host of interesting new features that are set to make the racing experience even more amped up.

According to a report from Game Spot, this first patch of the year will be landing next week. One of the most anticipated features that will be introduced in the update is the all-new Snapshot Pro, a photo mode that can be accessed with the phone screen menu.

With this photo mode in "Need for Speed", the players will be able to position the camera freely. They can also adjust the settings according to their preference such as the depth of field, brightness, contrast, and saturation, among others. As expected, the photo settings for "Need for Speed" will also offer filters for making the images more appealing.

Another aesthetic feature that will be coming to the game in the next update is a wrap sharing option. This allows the player to share the car wraps from the Paint and Wrap sections. Players can share their wraps, which other gamers can download and edit.

There's also a fun "competitive" option now for players to race against other players.

To make the game more enticing to the players, the February update will also offer new trophies and achievements to maximize and highlight the brand new features included in the patch. These trophies and achievement are the "Filter Addict" which requires the players use Snapshot Pro More to take a snapshot with a filter, "Wrap Artist" which rewards the players for sharing a wrap with the other gamers, and "Climbing the Ranks" for players to reach 10 different Daily Challenges.

Other new features in Need for Speed's upcoming update include more customization selections, license plate customization options and gas stations spread throughout Ventura Bay. These gas stations can be used by players so they can get their vehicles fixed, without wasting the time on going back to their garage.

A number of other small details have also been improved like "Splash" screen to see updates and other bug fixes.

Even with another update on the way, developer Ghost Games continues to look to the future as they are already planning the next "Need for Speed". According to a report from Gazette Review, the company is already hiring new employees to start working on the sequel as soon as possible.

The "Need for Speed Showcase" update is slated to be launched on Feb. 3.
