Gina Rodriguez Offers Golden Globes Dress to Fan for Prom
Actress Gina Rodriguez is making a fan's dream come true, letting the teen rock one of the star's designer gowns to prom.
The star and the fan, Jessica Casanova, had an exchange on Twitter that caught widespread attention and had fans praising the "Jane the Virgin" star's thoughtfulness.
Casanova reached out to the star on social media. She told the actress that she would love to wear the dress Rodriguez wore to the 2016 Golden Globes to her own prom.
The actress, who tends to retweet and reach out to fans on social media, soon tweeted back at Casanova. Rodriguez told her that, while she didn't own the Zaz Posen ball gown she wore, she could still offer her another dress: her outfit to the 2015 Golden Globes.

The teen couldn't help herself and later shared her excitement about getting the chance to wear the designer dress. "Being privileged to wear @HereIsGina dress to prom, and its like a dream come true," Casanova later tweeted.

The dress is a black strapless mermaid gown by Badgley Mischka and is worth $1,190.
Not only did the dress land Rodriguez on several "best dressed" lists when she wore it, but the star was also wearing the dress on the day that she won the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a comedy series.
The last time a Latina took home that award was in 2007, when America Ferrera won for "Ugly Betty."
Rodriguez also made history by earning The CW its first Golden Globe, a moment she documented on social media.
