Jon "Bones" Jones will look to solidify his status as the best light heavyweight champion in mixed martial arts history when he takes on Glover Teixeira in the main event of UFC 172 on Saturday at the Baltimore Arena.

Jones surpassed former Ultimate Fighting Championship light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz's record after successfully defending his title six-consecutive times when he scored a unanimous-decision win against Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 165.

On Saturday, a win would put Jones third in the record books for the most number of consecutive title defenses, and three wins behind record-holder Anderson Silva.

Jones, who has not tasted defeat in his last 10 UFC fights, will be a heavy favorite heading into the showdown, but the 205 pound kingpin knows that he will have a tough night against Teixeira. Analysts are all convinced that Teixeira will be one of the hardest-hitting opponents Jones has faced, and Bones knows that there is no room for complacency on Saturday night.

"It's easy to stay focused on Glover just looking at the guy's record," Jones said in an interview. "The guy hasn't lost a fight in five years. He's beaten 20 people in a row. He's, obviously, a very special fighter. In order to defeat such a magnificent fighter, I need to be on my game. I need to be even more magnificent than he is."

The Jones-Teixeira showdown will be the fifth fight on Saturday's main card, which is scheduled to start at 10 p.m. EST on pay-per-view. Below is the list of UFC 172 Main Card bouts:
