‘Dancing with the Stars’ Season 22 Cast: Taryn Manning, Rhea Perlman Added to Roster?
The magic of "Dancing with the Stars" has always partly been from the dazzling celebrities gracing the dance floor. The new season is still some ways away, but the buzz on the upcoming roster is growing louder by the day with names of athletes, television stars and other personalities being thrown in ahead of the season premiere.
There has been no official word from the team behind the acclaimed television show about the new lineup of celebrities and professional dancers, but two new names have emerged as likely contestants in the 22nd season of the ABC series -- Taryn Manning and Rhea Perlman.
According to a report from Inquisitr, "Orange Is the New Black" star Manning is one of the actresses being speculated to strap in her dancing shoes for the new season. Since her Netflix series does not air or film all year round, Manning can indulge in a season of "Dancing with the Stars" with very little conflict in shooting, if any.
Further fueling the rumors is a recent tweet by the actress on her Twitter account that simply read, "DWTS." A lot of fans assumed this was confirmation, but Manning has not commented on the show since then.
Another small-screen star who is being rumored to join "Dancing with the Stars" is Rhea Perlman. The actress first attracted attention for her potential when brought up by former "Cheers" co-star and former "Dancing with the Stars" contestant Kristie Alley, who landed second place in season 12.
"I think Rhea would be good on 'Dancing with the Stars' because Rhea is a really good dancer," Alley said in an interview with Wetpaint Entertainment. "I don't know if she'd do it."
She added, "You have to take a big leap of faith before you do 'Dancing with the Stars'. You know it's hard work, and you know you're putting yourself out there. Put it this way -- I wouldn't want to do 'Dancing with the Stars' and be off the first week. You know?"
Aside from the two television personalities, there have been a great variety of names that has been cropping up as part of the possible roster next season, a previous report from Latin Post revealed.
Some of the celebrities who might show up onscreen are "Chasing Life" actress Italia Ricci, "The Bachelor" stars Kaitlyn Bristowe and Ben Higgins, Bindi Irwin's brother Robert Irwin, and New York Giants' Rashad Jennings.
"Dancing with the Stars" Season 22 is slated to air on Mar. 21 at ABC.
