"Grand Theft Auto" continues to cement its status as one of the great games of its season as the title marked a shipment of about 60 million units.

According to a report from Game Spot, the achievement was revealed by Take-Two Interactive as part of their latest earnings report. The shipping numbers are up from the 54 million announced last August 2015.

Despite the success of the best-selling game, not all the numbers turned out to be as big of a success as "Grand Theft Auto 5". As of the quarter that ended last Dec. 31, total revenue was reportedly $486.8 million, compared to the $954 million they raked in at the same period last year. Net income the quarter also declined from $99.7 million to $211.6 million last year.

On the other hand, the company earned well from digitally delivered content marking revenue of $213.6 million, which is about 44 percent of their total revenue. Recurrent consumer spending, which consists of virtual currency and DLC, also swelled to 45 percent year-over-year.

CEO Strauss Zelnick addressed the numbers in a statement from PlayStation Lifestyle, where he also highlighted the specific games that contributed the most to the results.

"During the holiday season, Take-Two enjoyed immense consumer demand for its recent releases and catalog, enabling the Company to deliver another quarter of strong revenue, Non-GAAP earnings and cash flow," he said. Zelnick added that the sales of "Grand Theft Auto V," "NBA 2K16" and "WWE 2K16" were a big part of the impressive numbers across the board.

Take-Two Interactive also remains positive and confident of the future. Due to the third quarter and forecast, the company has decided to raise their financial outlook for the new fiscal year saying that 2016 is "poised to be another year of meaningful profits for Take-Two." They are now expecting revenue in the fourth quarter to hit $260 to $310 million, and full-year revenue to be an impressive $1.48 to $1.53 billion, according to Game Spot.

Zelnick explained in PlayStation Lifestyle, "Looking ahead, we have an extensive development pipeline that positions our Company for revenue growth and margin expansion over the long-term. We are excited about this Friday's release of 'XCOM 2', which has received stellar early review scores, and anticipation already is building for the fiscal 2017 launches of 'Battleborn' and 'Mafia III'."

A report from Destructroid revealed that the pre-loading for the much-awaited "XCOM 2" is now available for Steam players who have pre-ordered the game. It's slated to be launched on Feb. 4 or Feb. 5, depending on the region.
